We're not a Silicon Valley startup. We're parents of 9 kids who needed a family safety app we could actually afford — and actually trust.
Like a lot of parents, we wanted to know our kids were safe. When they're walking to school, hanging out at a friend's house, or riding their bike around the neighborhood — you just want that peace of mind.
So we looked at the popular family tracking apps. Life360 was the obvious choice. But then we saw the price: $29.99 a month for the features we actually needed. For a family of 11, that's not a small decision. We're not rich. We budget carefully. That kind of monthly cost adds up fast.
And then we learned something worse — these apps were selling our family's location data to data brokers. The very thing we were using to protect our kids was being used to track and monetize them. Our children's daily routines, their school locations, their friends' houses — all packaged up and sold to the highest bidder.
"We couldn't afford the price tag, and we couldn't stomach the privacy violations. So we decided to build something better."
GuardSafely started as a side project. A family that codes together, stays together — or at least that's what we told ourselves during late-night debugging sessions.
We had two non-negotiable requirements:
1. It had to be affordable. If we couldn't afford $29.99/month, neither could a lot of other families. We set our price at $4.99/month — less than a coffee at Starbucks. Because family safety shouldn't be a luxury.
2. It had to be truly private. Not "private" with an asterisk. Not "we value your privacy" while selling your data behind the scenes. We built end-to-end encryption into the foundation. AES-256-GCM — the same standard used by banks and governments. Your location data is encrypted on your phone before it ever leaves. We literally cannot see where your family is. By design.
Your family's data belongs to your family. We can't see it, we can't sell it, and we wouldn't even if we could.
Family safety shouldn't require a premium budget. We keep our prices low because we know what it's like to watch every dollar.
We use GuardSafely every single day with our own 9 kids. If something doesn't work well, we feel it first.
No hidden fees, no data selling, no misleading claims. What you see is what you get.
Most tracking apps are built by companies that make money from your data. Their business model depends on knowing where you are and selling that information. Privacy is an afterthought — if it's a thought at all.
We're the opposite. We built GuardSafely because we needed it ourselves. We're parents first, developers second. Every decision we make starts with one question: "Would we want this for our own kids?"
When your family uses GuardSafely, you're trusting us with something important. We take that seriously — because we're trusting it with the same thing.
"Nine kids. One app. Zero compromises on privacy. That's GuardSafely."
